ROGER HUNT

I have a little bit of a funny story to share from my neighbour who lives 2 floors below me. So one morning around 9am, my neighbour by the name of Lesley and her husband were out walking Roger, their dog. It was a normal walk just like every other day thinking this walk was going to be the same just like the others. While on their walk, Lesley and her husband chose to stop at Dean Henderson Park to take a seat on one of many benches that were at the park just to rest their feet and enjoy some of the scenery, when all of a sudden a squirrel decided to make an appearance, a really chunky one, Lesley said to Roger “Don’t you even think about it boy” half way through her sentence, Roger took off flying trying to hunt down the squirrel, Lesley said to me that “I have done some cross country but i don’t specialize in chasing dogs” , as Roger was having the time of his life, Lesley and her husband were running after him hoping they would be able to catch him. Eventually it was a huge chase that lasted 3 minutes, then that squirrel managed to climb up a tree which left Roger waiting by the tree. Lesley and her husband finally caught up to Roger and never felt more relief in their entire lives, they claimed  “that was the most nerve racking experience they have ever went through”. I went on to ask them, “out of many experiences you probably went through, why did this story stand out to you the most?” Lesley told me that it wasn’t the chase that made this experience super memorable, and that it was the randomness of the whole event. She also mentioned that the look on Roger's face when the squirrel popped out is unforgettable. This day, Roger also managed to help Lesley and her husband find a new hangout spot at Dean Park by taking them there while he was trying to catch the squirrel, to this day Lesley and her husband use that spot to hangout and have small gatherings. “Thanks to Roger, we have a lovely area to sit and chat now.”
